These extensions will make your lives easier, especially if you are someone who is working in such a field. You could be working on garments, image editing, graphics designing, or web designing. Especially if you are part of a design team or working alone, then it would help to make the task of finding the right color easy. Maybe, you are just looking for your next wall color? Let’s begin.
1. ColorZilla
ColorZilla comes with many features. The first one is EyeDropper, which will recognize any color you click on. It can be anything on the web page, including images in any format. Once you do, you will notice the Color Picker icon goes from black to the color you had selected. Click on the icon again to launch a pop-up with hex code details. Love this tool? It got keyboard shortcuts. Look at the software closely, and you can see Color history where all the colors you fancied will be stored for you. Just click on the color to view details again. On the left side, you can experiment with shades to further fine-tune your color shade. Not sure what hex codes to copy? Select Copy to Clipboard option. You can analyze the color palette of any page instantly. Get ColorZilla
2. ColorPick Eyedropper
ColorPick Eyedropper is the simplest Chrome extension to identify color online. Open the extension and hover over the color you are interested in. The extension will recognize and display the hex color code in real-time. When you click on the pixel of the color, the extension will display a pop-up right next to it with the hex color code. You can copy and paste it now. Pretty simple and devoid of any advanced features that we saw earlier in ColorZilla. If you are not happy with using the extension in the toolbar, you can open it in a pop-up. Might help on certain websites. Get ColorPick Eyedropper
3. Eye Dropper
Eye Dropper is another Chrome extension to identify and pick colors from the web. Open the extension and click on Pick color from the web option and simply select the pixel. Once you do, the extension displays the hex color code for you to copy. Every color that you identify will be stored neatly in the history column. So you can revisit it later. Another option is the Color Picker tab, where you can manipulate the palette to find or fine-tune the shade that you want to pick. Like other extensions in the list, Eye Dropper is free to download and use. Get Eye Dropper
4. Color by Fardos
One of the more refined Chrome extensions I like is Colors by Fardos because it is well-designed. There are four options at the bottom, the first one of which is Eye Dropper. Select it and click on any pixel on the web page to identify its color. You can further refine it by going into gradients. There is a color picker where you can move around the palette until something catches your eye. Finally, there is a search tab where you can enter the hex color code and view it in action. Color, Color on the Wall
University of Maryland sociologist Philip Cohen pointed out in his study that blue is officially the most popular color in the world. Well, who doesn’t likes a clear blue sky? The next time you see a photo carrying shade of the one you like, you don’t have to scratch your head anymore. Just use one of the Chrome extensions to identify it online. Also, it is easy to figure out the exact colors captured by the photographers who post their images on Flickr, Instagram, and other avenues.
