photo uploads on Facebook happen from my Android. While making an update from mobile, the chances of error increases due to smaller keyboard and auto correct features. Previously, whenever I made a mistake while updating a status, I had to log in using my laptop to delete that update. But yesterday by accident I discovered the invisible (almost) remove button in the Facebook app for Android that lets me delete status updates right on the mobile interface. I don’t know for how long the feature has been there, but it does have the potential to save you from embarrassment. So let’s see how you can delete Facebook status updates directly from Android.
Deleting a Facebook Status on Android
On Facebook for Android you can either just hide the update from your timeline or delete it completely. To delete a status update from Android spot it on your news feed first. Most of us would long press the update to find the delete option, but that’s not the case here. Swipe your thumb from left to right on the status update you want to delete to discover a small Remove button on the status. Simply press the button to delete the update. Editor’s Note: The above trick also works if you want to delete a comment on your status update, or maybe delete your own comment on your or someone else’s status. If you don’t want to delete the status update but just want to hide it from the timeline you will have to swipe on the update in timeline view. After swiping in the timeline view you will see Hide from Timeline option along with the Delete Post option. The trick also works for Facebook touch website on mobile browsers including iPhone. So from this point on, no need to run to a computer to delete a Facebook update. You can take care of it from your smartphone.
