There is, however, a bit of a twist this month as instead of 4 free games right at the beginning of the month, all Xbox Live Gold members will get 3 free games in the first week and 2 more from December 16 onward. So, if you have already purchased the Xbox Live Gold membership, dive in! Others can register themselves and join the party. In December 2017, Xbox One users will get all 5 games while Xbox 360 users will only get 2 games. All thanks to the backward compatibility that’s now available on all Xbox One consoles, giving the users access to thousands of Xbox 360 titles. I personally own an Xbox 360 and, at times, I do feel that there should have been something called forward compatibility as well. Nonetheless, here are the titles you will get from Xbox free for the month of December.
Free Xbox Games with Gold for December 2017
Great news for Xbox fans! If you already own an Xbox Gold subscription, you get games worth an astounding $1,029 absolutely free. Happy New Year, fellas.
1. Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide
Getting back to what we have this month. First up, we have the Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide. Do not underestimate the vermin in this first-person shooter as they will kill you unless you have the guts to go for glory and rid the city of Ubersreik from these monstrous creatures. This game will be available until the end of December but is only available for Xbox One.
2. Tales from the Borderlands
This comic, sci-fi adventure game from the planet Pandora continues to be free on Xbox but will only be available until December 15 and that too exclusively for Xbox One users.
3. Back to the Future: The Game
I’m a huge fan of Marty McFly and the Professor, who showed us a glimpse of the future over and over again. Now, to all our delight, the game, Back to the Future, is available for free. If you are a fan of this series, you must not miss this one. This title will be available from December 16 until the end of the month and will be an Xbox One exclusive.
4. Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death
The popular hack-and-slash game is now available for free but only for Xbox Gold subscribers. The objective is simple — destroy all your enemies and save the day. Marlow Briggs and The Mask of Death will be available from December 16 until the end of this year. This title is likely to make the Xbox 360 owners very happy as it’s available both on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
5. Child of Eden
This musical action game directs you to play a hero and save Lumi, the first human born in space, by purifying her memories. This interesting title is available for Xbox Gold subscribers. Although some might say that the game is a tad small when compared to the other titles on this list, it surely engages the players. This game will be available until December 15 and will be available both on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
