In many cases, due to incorrect sync, contacts get deleted too. Whatever the reason for contacts going missing, here’s how to recover deleted Google contacts.
Wait… Check If Contacts Are Deleted
Before trying to restore the contacts, make sure they are deleted. That’s because Android phones let you customize what contacts should be displayed on your phone. You might have hidden your contacts accidentally. To verify that, open the default Contacts app on your phone. Tap on the three-dot icon at the top (or tap on the three-bar icon on the left side) and select Settings. Go to ‘Contacts to display’ option. Select All contacts. Note: The steps may differ depending on your Contacts app. You have to look for the setting Contacts to display. If the contacts aren’t available, then let’s check how to restore them.
How to Restore Deleted Contacts From Google
For that, you will have to take the help of a native feature in Google Contacts known as Undo changes. As the name suggests, it will undo any changes made to the contacts. When you use it, you will be asked to select the period from which you want to undo any changes. You can select from 10 minutes to 30 days. Now any changes made to the contacts list from the selected date will be erased. That is, if the contacts were deleted, they would come back. But it also means that if you added any new contact from that period, it would be deleted. So, be careful and backup your existing contacts before performing this.
